Job Description - General Manager

UP2IT Access Hire are a successful, access hire equipment company based in East Tamaki. Our equipment is centered around Elevated Work Platforms: Cherry Pickers, Scissor Lifts, Knuckle and Telescopic Booms, Mast lifts to name a few.

With your experience in a similar role and industry, be responsible for all aspects of the business including operations, sales and people activities leading a small team, to support the delivery of a profitable business, whilst being supported and part of a larger Group of companies. You will be motivated to look for growth opportunities.

Tasks you will undertake (not limited to):

  • Provide effective leadership to ensure optimal team performance and capability
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and drive sales activities for the business
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate resources (people and equipment)
  • Creating business plan and setting of objectives
  • Monthly management reporting
  • Continually evaluate market conditions to ensure competitive pricing
  • Support growth initiatives
  • Ensure operational and administration excellence
  • Maintain timely and systematic contact cycles for existing and prospective customers

Skills you will bring:

  • Experience working at a strategic and operational (at times hands on) level
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Motivating, engaging, resilient people leader
  • Mechanical aptitude with Elevated Work Platform experience
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain customer relationships
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
  • Proven ability to source solutions and solve problems
  • Can do attitude
  • Technically proficient with computer systems: Outlook, Office suite: Word and Excel
  • MCS or similar hire software system experience
  • Sales experience
  • Operations / transport / logistics experience.
