Inspiring Communities' Director

Job Description

Are you excited by the possibilities of communities being at the centre of creating and implementing solutions to improve their own outcomes and hauora?  Do you have strong relationships and networks with community led and/or community organisations across the motu?  We are looking for an experienced and collaborative manager to lead our team of passionate people working towards our mission - to build a platform for successful Community-led Development (CLD) in Aotearoa across community and public service system. 

The Director position is newly created to provide strategic leadership to steer us through our exciting next phase.  You will have a working knowledge of the current CLD landscape in Aotearoa, the ability to connect with community groups as well as advocate for CLD at a system level and be highly experienced in building organisational capability in Te Tiriti.  You will have demonstrated alignment with the values and kaupapa of Inspiring Communities. You will be enthusiastic about the power of community-led change and the difference it can make and be a credible leader from the view of practitioners, communities, local and central agencies, funders and other NGOs.  

This role can be completed from home, with flexible hours from anywhere in NZ.

About Inspiring Communities 

Inspiring Communities is a small team of contractors who work virtually throughout Aotearoa.  We have a Trust Board, a core team of 5 roles (IC Director, Powerdigm Director, Operations Manager, Communications Manager and Administrations and Comms Support) as well as other contractors brought on to work alongside communities in supporting Community Led Development.
