He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We are looking for a Manager Community Place – Community, where you will join our passionate and highly motivated team, responsible for leading day-to-day operational management at two facilities located in the Puketapapa Local Board area (Wesley Community Centre / Roskill Youth Zone) including responsibility for programme development and budget / staffing allocations. The role is a fixed-term (18 months) 40 hour a week role.


You will create effective community practice, addressing needs and priorities of the local board and local communities and provide a safe, professional and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

 

Among others, your day-to-day duties will be to:

  • Facilitate and grow community and partner-led activity to deliver services including programmes and events and provide facility and people management which meets the needs of our diverse community 
  • Collaboratively manage the recruitment and induction of staff, as well as the mentoring, upskilling and coaching of existing staff.
  • Lead and develop our community-based staff for delivering excellence in visitor experiences, ensuring through your work that Te ao Māori is evident in all aspects of service design and delivery

He kōrero mōu: About you

We are looking for an individual with 5 years’ experience in a specialist aspect of community development, social or community services experience and 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role. You will have solid customer service and administrative experience with strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to build rapport with a wide range of people. You understand the importance of relationships with Māori in Tāmaki Makaurau and have knowledge of local iwi and places of importance to them 

 

You will hold a current drivers' licence.
