Job Description - People services coordinator

The Opportunity

The People and Safety team at the Otago Regional Council is seeking a People Services Coordinator to join them on a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) basis in our Dunedin office.

The purpose of the role is to proactive and effective support to the People & Culture team, ORC people leaders and staff.

As a People Services Coordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Efficient execution of recruitment, onboarding, and contract variation activities
  • Providing timely and effective support to people leaders and staff with HR queries and requests
  • Contributing to relevant People and Culture initiatives and projects, focused on increasing organisational effectiveness and efficiencies

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related subject
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Knowledge of best practice HR and Recruitment principles
  • Administrative or customer services experience
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines, combined with great attention to detail
  • An interest in system and process improvement along with the ability to learn and manage new software systems
