Line Manager:Foundation ChairThis newly developed Planned Giving Manager role is a part-time position responsible for taking the Barrer & Co Planned Giving Strategy and using this to secure $10M in philanthropic funding through major gifts and bequests. This role will be specifically responsible for:
· Building and maintaining relationships and securing significant donations from qualified donors
· Establishing and managing focus groups and think tanks when appropriate
· Managing and supporting the Working Party
· Working closely with the Cholmondeley Children’s Centre team
· Managing the Cholmondeley Children’s Foundation bequest programme
· Managing and analysing the database in line with policy and ensuring donor confidentiality always
· Fundraising event coordination and management
Skills and Requirements
You will need significant fundraising experience and have a solid understanding and working knowledge of the major gift and bequest fundraising streams. At a minimum, you should have excellent relationship management and donor stewardship skills, the ability to close high-level asks, a strategic long-term understanding of fundraising principles, and the capacity to review and revise the Fundraising Strategy as required. In addition, you will need to have exemplary organisational skills, and a proven record of exceptional data management.
Additionally, highly valued experience would include your experience stewarding significant (seven-figure) gifts. Your soft skills also need to include a high level of emotional intelligence, the ability to relate to a variety of different people, and a warm, charismatic personality that intuitively understands and can communicate the Foundation’s vision and strategic priorities to potential donors.

Key Relationships
This person would work with the Chair, the Working Party, and Foundation Trustees to execute this strategy. It is also crucial that the appointed individual works closely with the Cholmondeley Children’s Centre team.
Position Description
Implementing the Fundraising Strategy
· Drive the implementation of the Planned Giving Strategy to achieve the $10m target.
· Manage the volunteer Working Party
· Manage donor lists, pipeline documents, undertake research, develop background documents as well as cultivation, and stewardship plans.
· Assist the Taskforce in building relationships and securing financial support through major gifts and bequest pledgers.
· Manage all communications to major supporters and potential donors.
· Set up and attend meetings with various Relationship Managers
· Ensure strong and trustworthy relationships are maintained with Cholmondeley Children’s Foundation.
· Plan, manage, and lead donor cultivation and stewardship events such as focus groups, think tank sessions, regional launches, and thank you gatherings.
Recognition, Reporting and Administration
· Develop and manage appropriate gift recognition, acknowledgment, and reporting.
· Provide regular reports to the Board regarding risks, opportunities, and activities associated with specific donors and update on progress of the strategy implementation
· Liaise with Cholmondeley Children’s Centre staff to ensure all collateral, donor-related policies, matrixes, and process documents are developed appropriately and on time.
· Update the database with all contact reports and tasks in a timely fashion, adhering to good data hygiene practices.
Desired Skills and Experience
· At least 5 years of fundraising experience with at least 3 years working with either bequests and/or major gifts portfolios
· Successful experience directly asking for financial contributions
· Understanding of strategic, long-term fundraising principles
· Strong relationship cultivation, stewardship, and management skills
· The ability to connect with different stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds
· Confidence in identifying and evaluating donor prospects
· Management of high value volunteers
· Developing and implementing innovative fundraising programmes from scratch
· Analytical skills and the ability to use fundraising data as a tool
· Experience planning and coordinating events
· Intuitive understanding of how to report to a Board on the efficacy of fundraising activity
· Monitoring and evaluation of fundraising activities
· Project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple overlapping activities
· Creativity in undertaking fundraising activities
