This role entails facilitating Survivor Experiences Service Private Sessions with survivors by attending, setting up and facilitating sessions throughout the motu as required, including the collection of survivor data. Support to hear the experiences of survivors through confidential and private face-to-face meetings, group meetings and other forum which survivors may request, for example, via Zoom.
Preparation of documentation to support private sessions is required, along with notetaking at private sessions and timely updating of survivor records following the session. A Private Session Facilitator may need to review written accounts and ensure the case management system is updated with relevant information.
Supporting the Contact and Support team to answer calls as and when required, is part of the role as required, along with some follow up administration including writing engaging with Ministry's for compensation, or to lodge complaints. Full Driver's License is required.
It is a preference that Private Session Facilitators are comfortable to work in prison environment, but not essential.
