Job Description

Project Coordinator – Business Support

  • Canterbury/Chatham Islands
  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) Permanent
  • Based in Christchurch

We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services. At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga – Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau. About our group and team The Business Support team support and enable the work of the Canterbury Learning Support and Education Teams to deliver effective services across the region. This includes working alongside others to develop and implement new initiatives, provide data analysis and support continuous improvement. The team plays a vital role in contributing to and achieving the Ministry’s overall goals. About this role The role of project coordinator will provide support and expertise to ensure quality projects and programme practices are applied to achieve the desired outcomes, outputs and benefits. The role will involve the following:

  • Working collaboratively with project leads and others to plan, monitor and report on projects, programmes and initiatives
  • Providing administration support to ensure the successful delivery of the projects, programmes or initiatives
  • Arranging and coordinating meetings, training and workshops, including agenda preparation, minute taking and record keeping
About you

We’re looking for someone who can offer the following:

  • Experience in building collaborative relationships to achieve shared outcomes
  • A high level of conceptual and analytical capability, including analysing and interpreting data
  • Advanced computer literacy and ability to work across a variety of platforms
  • Innovative and proactive approach to solving problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise work programmes
  • The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tirirti o Waitangi
  • Excellent time management and planning skills to enable you to respond to changing needs and priorities and to ensure deadlines are met
