Port of Tauranga is New Zealand’s largest port and international freight gateway. Our Container Terminal based at Sulphur Point offers a 24-hour, seven-day service for ship planning, ship operations, marshalling, on-board stevedoring and reefer services.

We are seeking a Logistics Administrator to join our highly functional and close-knit team in Customer Cargo Logistics.

This is a full-time position performed across a Monday – Sunday (day shift) roster, with flexibility to work from home and the office. 

The role will undertake day-to-day administrative functions in our busy logistics department with the aim of achieving the highest possible standards of customer service, accuracy, and operational efficiency. This includes:

· Reconciling cargo information;

· Ensuring the upmost accuracy of data within our Terminal Operating System (TOS);

· Applying best practice processes & procedures to ensure regulatory compliance; 

· Handling customer enquiries and requests.

It is a varied and exciting customer-facing role which requires an individual who is self-motivated, diligent and organised. 

To be successful in your application, you will be:

· An excellent communicator;

· Passionate about learning new skills and developing your knowledge of terminal operations;

· Exceptionally organised with the ability to uphold tight deadlines and work under pressure; 

· An innovative problem solver with great attention to detail;

· Focused on delivering excellent customer service by dealing with others in a professional and considerate manner;

· Highly computer literate with an exceptional all-round knowledge of IT systems (including Microsoft Excel);

· Strongly focused on contributing to a safe operating environment and maximising terminal operating efficiency;

· Positive and approachable.

Experience in a port or logistics environment will also be an advantage, but is not essential. 

Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand and a valid COVID-19 vaccination passport is also required.

Port of Tauranga is a drug, alcohol free workplace. The successful applicant will be required to pass a drug and alcohol test and background checks.
