Their philosophy is that it is every child's 'birth-right' to a good start in life.They are looking for an extraordinary individual to join this caring and passionate organisation in this newly created role. As National Coordinator, you’ll be the conduit between the 11 affiliate organisations across the country and the national board. You will be an advocate for the needs and rights of solo led whānau within New Zealand.This newly created role offers plenty of scope, a varied day, and a supportive board. No two days are the same, but each day is fulfilling, challenging, and rewarding.
The ideal candidate will be warm, friendly, and relatable, as there is extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be adaptable, loaded with initiative and willing to make the role your own!
Duties:
- Build and manage relationships with the affiliate organisations, government agencies, funders and other stakeholders nationwide
- Provide leadership and support to affiliate managers and governance
- Represent Birthright at public events, conferences and media engagements
- Administrative tasks such as reporting and budget management.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- A demonstrated history of working within the not-for-profit sector
- Demonstrable understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Āo Māori, Te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
- Strong organisation and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A genuine desire to improve the lives of solo led whānau
This is a work from home-based role with some domestic travel involved.
