The role

We are seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Senior Tax Accountant for this full-time permanent position. You will play a vital part in overseeing and managing all compliance and administration responsibilities within the Tax division.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct thorough taxation reviews for clients, identifying potential tax issues and providing expert advice. Craft effective tax strategies to ensure clients are compliant with tax regulations.
• Supervision and Training – Supervise and train the Tax division team to ensure timely and accurate completion of returns. Provide training and education to staff - effectively communicate updates and to tax legislation.
• Prepare responses and schedules for tax audits and reviews conducted by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD).
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients – foster trust.
• Prepare annual accounts for various entities, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, Trusts, and Companies, while providing support to the Business Accounting Services division - providing hands-on support as required for the Tax division.

Our ideal candidate

• Extensive knowledge of New Zealand Tax Legislation
• Strong Relationship Management, Analytical and Communication skills – ability to problem solve.
• Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and supervise staff.
• Technology savvy – Proficient use of accounting software and MS Office.

Hours of work

Full-time hours - generally Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week salaried position with additional hours required as necessary.
