Job Description - Technician / electrician

* Highly competitive salary + company vehicle * Great Pipeline of work and career progression * Must be Eligible to work in NZ & have relevant Experience Job Title: Protection Technician/Electrician About Us: [Insert brief description of the company and its operations.] Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Electrical Commissioning and Testing Technician/Electrician to join our team. Reporting to the Commissioning Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and maintaining plant/substation equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct testing, commissioning, and maintenance of plant/substation equipment. * Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using wiring diagrams and testing devices. * Support Project Manager in preparing commissioning plans and managing project timelines. * Provide guidance and supervision to junior technicians in installation and maintenance tasks. * Conduct fault finding for SCADA systems and ensure adherence to communication protocols. * Manage safety procedures, quality control measures, and risk assessments for assigned projects. Key Requirements: * Proven work experience and qualification in high voltage (above 33kV) protection systems. * Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in switch yards after completing training and obtaining a BTech. * Diploma in electrical engineering and BTech qualification. * Familiarity with necessary equipment, industry codes, and government regulations. * Strong business, time management, and report writing skills. * Fluent written and verbal English skills, along with good telephone communication skills. * Adherence to health and safety practices and continuous skills updating. * Valid driver's license and experience driving appropriate vehicles in all road and weather conditions. * Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office suite and SCADA systems.
