About the hotel:

Novotel & Ibis Auckland Ellerslie is a unique dual branded property with 247 rooms, restaurant, bar and multiple conference outlets. We are located adjacent to the Ascot Hospital and Ellerslie Racecourse and have the added benefit of being 'out' of the city. We are easily accessible by bus or train and there is plenty of off street parking nearby. 

Job Description

As a barista you will be full of passion and drive for the hospitality industry and are seeking your opportunity to grow with a leading hospitality provider. A bubbly personality will help you strive in going the extra mile and thinking outside the box in terms of great service.

No two days are the same, which we love but generally the tasks of the role include:

• Being stationed behind the bar 
• You will be responsible for providing warm, friendly and welcoming customer service and responding to all requests in a high pressure environment
• You will be responsible for making and serving outstanding beverages – primarily coffee, with efficiency and consistency
• Be able to explain drink options and serve drinks to tables in the bar
• Coffee art a bonus but not required!

Qualifications

• Experience as a barista, with knowledge of different coffee orders, alternative milks
• Able to work weekends, early mornings and rotating roster 
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong communications skills and good presentation
• A genuine passion for and knowledge of all things coffee
• Attention to detail, reliability and responsibility
• Positive and can-do attitude, with a flair for sales
• Willingness to learn and develop
