Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role

This role will work across our Tauranga, Whakatāne and Rotorua offices and support communications activities across the organisation.  Our preferred candidate will work closely with Communications Partners to deliver work that supports organisational service delivery – from public transport to river management.

Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will have cultural awareness and sound knowledge of the full communications spectrum, from strategy development to social media implementation and everything in-between. You will also have:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
  • At least three to five years’ experience in a similar communications role.
  • An understanding of the central and local government operating environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working across a large, fast-paced organisation and with community organisations, groups and businesses.
  • A track record of meeting tight deadlines work.
  • A positive solution focused approach, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and an in-depth understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi would be an advantage.

This role is located in Tauranga. The salary range for this role is between $78,449.05 and $92,293.00 per annum.  

Appointment will be offered within this range dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
