About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at Te Ara Ātea, a place of discovery, community, gathering and sharing knowledge.
As a front facing member of our team you will work with books, technology, online resources, events, and programmes and every day will bring variety and learnings as you engage with our customers from all walks of life. You will build rapport and actively promote our wide range of resources, supporting our community with lifelong learning and discovery. In addition, you'll display, maintain and promote physical collections and use your digital literacy skills to troubleshoot with our customers.
The hours of work for this opportunity are as follows:
Sunday - 9:30am to 4pm
Monday - 8:30am to 5pm
Tuesday - 8:30am to 5pm
Wednesday - 9:45am to 6:15pm
Thursday - 11:45am to 8:15pm
About you
Collaborative and positive, you enjoy working with others and are naturally able to relate to a wide range of people, particularly youth who spend time in this space. Your previous customer service experience means you are confident dealing with queries in person and via phone or email. You have strong digital skills along with a good understanding of library resources and their importance in our communities.
About the team
The Arts, Culture and Lifelong Learning Team look after our network of libraries and service centres across Selwyn and the Edge Connector Outreach Services and our digital library resources.
