We are looking for a Lead Ambassador for Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour as Permanent Full Time  Conference & Events Sales Executive. The ambassador should an eye for detail, a passion for creating magnifique luxury experience for our guests and developing a wonderful team.

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing

Job Description


Our Ambassador will be:

  • To promote and sell all areas of Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour, with a large focus on Event Management & Event Operations. To ensure all business opportunities are maximized, striving to exceed hotel revenue targets, as well as ensuring events are delivered to a high level of service and guest satisfaction. Maintaining internal and external relationships with stakeholders
  • Maintains Health and safety standards in the hotel including the safe operation of Ambassadors, contractors and volunteers.
  • A strong communicator, who is highly organised, motivating and empowering who inspires their team to produce a luxury standard of service
  • Working alongside a team of experienced leaders to ensure the Hotel runs smoothly
  • Effectively receive and manage client enquiries. Focusing on small to medium events / groups
  • Preparing customized proposals for each client, ensuring that all pricing and yield strategies are adhered to while being precise and prepared within the expected guidelines.
  • Completing the sales process to the highest standard. The process includes initial enquiry, site familiarizations, personalized proposals, negotiating and conversion, and client follow up.
  • On securing of business, ensure an event and client brief / Banquet Event Order (BEO) prepared to commence event arrangements.
  • Manage the Banquet Event Orders, and preparation / distribution where necessary.
  • Ensuring all departments are aware of event activities and movements.
  • Entertaining guests, clients and potential clients inside & sometimes outside of normal business hours as required
  • Attend C&E networking events, C&E industry specific Trade Shows, and other events as required
  • Host C&E business site inspections and famils as the business levels dictate.
  • Promoting active selling of all areas of the business.
  • Prepare and execute creative sales strategies and activity plan to drive sales.

Qualifications


  • Experience in a leadership role within a Hotel and collaborating with business stakeholders is a bonus
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role or Food & Beverage, preferably including 5 star experience
  • An excellent understanding of C&E sales and corporate sales / account management
  • An understanding of luxury guest expectations and desire to meet these expectations.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe
  • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation/ interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends in service, product and presentation.
  • Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily.
  • Organises time and work efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, English essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive orientation
  • Hours worked according to the demands of the business and as per employment agreement.
