We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic individual to join our exciting Event Facilitation team covering South and West Auckland, based within our Customer & Community Services group.
We work closely with communities to support and permit events that connect and strengthen our communities. We're passionate about supporting events that contribute to a sense of belonging and pride in our neighbourhoods.
As the Event Facilitator, you'll support local boards and community groups to successfully permit events on public open space by coordinating and processing event applications and funding. You'll be responsible for the full life cycle of event permits; ensuring all groups have the appropriate consents, assessing and issuing event permits and monitoring events to ensure regulatory compliance.
You'll also be the central contact point for local boards and the wider community for advice on the availability and allocation of funding and assist with assessing and processing funding applications.
He kōrero mōu: About you
In this exciting, fast-paced role you'll have regular contact with internal and external stakeholders, so you'll need to be a strong relationship builder and an excellent communicator, with previous experience in relationship management. You'll be able to easily build rapport with a range of people and have a strong focus on customer service. You'll also be process orientated, organised, and methodical in your approach, but also able to manage ambiguity when it arises.
Ideally, you'll have a tertiary qualification in events, at least two years' experience working in a customer focussed role and/or previous exposure to an events environment and a full driver's license. A good understanding and appreciation of the complexities and functions of local government will be advantageous.

This is a 9 month fixed term due to parental leave.
