About the Role: Mercury has been on an incredible journey since their acquisition of Trustpower in 2023.  Bringing together people, products and services from the two brands into the Mercury brand has enabled them to build better experiences and solutions for customers.   Reporting into the EGM People Experience & Technology, the newly created GM Digital Services is responsible for enabling Mercury to build on this journey by generating sustainable value and a competitive advantage through the delivery of future focused and fit for purpose digital and data technology solutions (digital services). This role will see you:

  • Develop and integrate a digital services strategy into Mercury’s overall business strategy
  • Lead and optimise future fit Digital delivery, Data & Analytics Enablement, Software Engineering, Architecture, Business Analysis and Application Specialists capabilities with support from key technology partners
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the Mercury business to prioritise the highest value digital and data work
  • Create and update actionable digital services roadmaps in collaboration with senior stakeholders across the business
  • Lead the design and implementation of innovative and value adding digital solutions to improve customer and employee experiences
  • Ensure the operational health and security of digital services platforms aligned to good industry standards
  • Manage commercial and supplier relationships for digital services
  • Drive digital innovation and serve as a change agent for digital transformation
  • Deliver business value through smart tech, data, and AI solutions
  • Inspire and develop a high performing collaborative leadership team through empowerment
About You: As well as being curious and future focussed you will:
  • Possess a degree in a technology-related field
  • Have 10+ year’s experience in top-level digital and data roles in large organisations
  • Display proven experience developing and leading the successful implementation of value adding digital and data strategies
  • Have rolled out AI and can grab and articulate what AI and clean data can do for Mercury
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of core business drivers and leading large scale digital transformations in medium to large companies
  • Be able to show experience with various IT delivery methods like Scrum, Agile, Lean, Kaizen, and DevSecOps
  • Have worked closely with senior management including executive management and Board
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems and identify business opportunities using technology
