Graphic Designer

A great opportunity to showcase your creative design skills across a broad spectrum of our business. The position is most suited to a person who has architectural graphic design experience, enjoys working in 2D, marketing communications or may have experience in the screen printing or signwriting industry.

About the job:

• Create digital renderings of portraits, graphics, illustrations, and design files for engraving granite memorials.

• Renderings are produced for customer approval with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in layout, spacing, placement, spelling and grammar

• Prepare drawings, illustrations, and graphics for engraving granite memorials using existing design and component files, specific examples provided by customers, and/or creates specific designs as needed.

• Understand the effects of colors, shadows, and gray scales in photographs and how they affect engraved results.

• Drawing skills are helpful as well as an eye for balance in a memorial layout

• Ensure proper communication and obtains approvals from customers regarding specific graphics, proofing of text, corrections, confirmation of sizes, colors, and textures to meet customer expectations

Skills required should include:

• Design & production of design layouts to obtain approvals from clients.
  
• Photoshop editing & restoration of photos
  
• Creation of designs by hand and/or Photoshop
  
• Light manufacturing application work
  
• Customer service/admin work

Optional:

• Production of CAD designs
  
• Digital marketing for website, Facebook & Instagram

• Skills required in Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator. Knowledge in sign graphics systems such as SignLab or Gerber is an advantage but not essential as full training provided.

• If you have experience in the areas of social media marketing, Google Adwords or CAD design there are opportunities to expand your role.

Requirements:

• Applicants should have NZ residency and/or a valid NZ work Visa

• Restricted/ Full Licence

• Must Pass a drug and alcohol screening

• Must pass a MOJ check
