About the role:
As a Health Improvement Practitioner, you'll be at the forefront of changing lives in our Wellington-based GP clinics. Imagine yourself providing mental, physical health, and well-being support, tailored for the New Zealand context using our adaptable Behavioural Health Consultancy (BHC) model. This is your chance to be the link between the GP team, peer health coaches, and community support workers.
Here's what your days will look like:
• Your primary mission is to work with GP clients, offering brief psychological interventions, including Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT), and facilitating evidence-based group programs
• You're the expert who elevates the capabilities of the general practice team by sharing your insights and fostering a culture of mental health and addiction competence
• You'll be a driving force in enhancing the overall well-being of the local community by crafting tailored group pathways based on clinic needs and ensuring seamless access to services.
What we expect from you:
• A post-graduate qualification that enables you to provide therapeutic support to clients
• Registration with a relevant body under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA)
• You have proven experience working with clients in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic models, especially brief psychological interventions
• A sincere passion for talking therapies.
