The Kai Security Manager role is responsible for leading the food response to the community who are whanau, internal services and external agencies ensuring that a clear strategy is in place and all operational, compliance requirements are continuously met.

You will be responsible for;

• Leading the understanding of the driving need behind food insecurity through analysis of data collected with BI team to inform Visionwest leadership, services and Community Collaboration groups.
• Supporting the Whai Manaaki Kai team in the day to day operations of Pataka Kai, ensuring all operational and compliance requirements are met (Volunteers & Staff) and stock.
• Building sector networks and supplier networks to grow food distribution capacity for the service, leading the co-ordination in the food response out west and across Auckland
• Working with internal stakeholders to implement and shape the Volunteer and intern program.
• Working along side the GM Community Services to be a lead in event management such as Visionwest Christmas response.
• Being a leader in the implementation of a kai social enterprise, working alongside other stakeholders such as Education and Training and GEBC.

As part of the Community Leadership team, you will also;

• Develop the collective/wrap around strategy and delivery for whanau
• Develop the response to community needs
• Press into new areas as the community needs move
• Lead workshops that inform our practice and understanding around Kai
