Company Description

• $25.50 per hour
• Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed

About the Role

Mercure Queenstown Resort is a 148 room, 4 star property with the most spectacular view of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables. We are looking for a driven and career-minded full time Reservations Agent to be part of our dynamic Front Office and Reservations team. As Reservations Agent you optimise hotel occupancy, average rate and yield by successfully converting all reservation enquiries into materialised bookings and taking responsibility to attain the highest possible occupancy and average rate.

Job Description

Key duties include: 

• Promptly answer all requests for reservations and record them accurately. 
• Ensure that the booking and reservation system is kept up to date through updating of rates, validity dates, mail messages and availability control. 
• Responsible for the review of group reservations, including liaison with clients, input of reservations into the system, releasing of rooms and ensure that all relevant information is kept up to date and special requests are communicated with other departments and actioned. 
• Closely monitor all allotments and ensure that all are being utilised and not oversold, provide allotment statistics and correspondence.

• You have a positive attitude, are well organised and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
• You love providing exceptional customer service to our guests and have excellent communication interpersonal and engagement skills - your smile can light up the room and is perceived over the phone.
• You are keen to learn new skills. 
• Ability to work 5 days per week on a rotating 7 day roster, including after hours, weekends and public holidays.
• You have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
