Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Organisational Performance and Improvement division are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Function Performance Consultant . This is an opportunity to build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, and challenge your expertise in workforce analysis and benchmarking into the country’s largest and highest ranked university.

The Senior Function Performance Consultant informs Budget Committee, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Operations, and Function Leads with workforce analysis and benchmarking. This includes making recommendations on function FTE size, shape, and capability, and identifying opportunities for streamlining processes and practices to enhance function effectiveness. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent role.

  • Demonstrate the best practice framework in New Zealand and internationally
  • Enable Function Leads to understand the people data across their function and act on it
  • Drive excellence in function performance through related initiatives
  • Make recommendations for change

Please note this is a fulltime (37.5 hours/week) permanent position with a salary range of $140,000- $155,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • Establish trusted relationships with senior business leaders to support workforce analysis and benchmarking for their functions and FTE targets
  • Creation and presentation of high-quality reports and documents for senior business leaders
  • Understanding of job architecture and associated human resources activities such as workforce planning, position management, and role design
  • Prior exposure to financial planning processes
  • Ability to identify, interrogate and describe the business process improvements needed to reach performance targets
  • Understanding of complexity and identify next best steps

The purpose of Organisational Performance & Improvement (OPI) is to support the achievement of the University’s strategy by implementing strategic projects well, empowering people to embrace change, improving processes, and lifting internal customer satisfaction and service effectiveness. You will join the Business Capability Team, which drives and informs the investment priorities across Waipapa Taumata Rau to deliver the University’s capability and performance improvements. The Business Capability Team has expertise in enterprise architecture, information architecture, function performance, and business architecture.
