About the role

The Sport and Recreation team is responsible for delivering world class recreation, sport and play outcomes for the Selwyn District's residents and visitors. You will be based at the modern Selwyn Sports Centre facility in Rolleston.

As a Senior Recreation Coordinator, you will:

• Support the Sports Centre Operations Manager to receive and respond in a timely and professional way to all enquiries, complaints, and issues, which may relate to facility bookings, events and/or programmes as and when required.

• Ensure all bookings are managed correctly using Council systems.
• Co-ordinate user group and hirer requirements and expectations in accordance with Selwyn Sports Centre operational policies and procedures (e.g. setting up and packing down activity equipment)

This is a rostered position covering the following hours.

Week 1

Tuesday and Wednesday 10.30 am - 7.00pm

Thursday and Friday 2.00pm - 10.30pm

Saturday 10.00am - 6.30pm

Week 2

Tuesday 10.30am - 7.00pm

Wednesday 7.30am - 4.00pm

Thursday and Friday 5.30am - 2.00pm

Saturday 7.30am - 4.00pm

About you

Delivering exceptional service to our users you will ensure all customer enquiries and bookings are managed effectively.

• Coordinate the day-to-day activities associated with sport, recreation and fitness programmes.
• Maintaining a safe environment for all of our customers
• You will be actively involved in the successful set up, pack down and delivery of programmes.
• Passionate about sport and recreation you will be motivated to ensure our new facility meets the needs of our growing community.
• Previous experience participating in sport and recreation activities or events with an understanding of the operational side of facilities.
• An effective communicator you are comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people and enjoy building and maintaining positive relationships. Above all, you are proactive, positive and keen to learn.
