Mobility Equipment and Services “MES” is the top technical service business in the health and disability sector and a preferred service provider to Ministry of Health and ACC in the region. Key clients include Enable New Zealand, hospitals and care facilities and private clients. The opportunity to be part of our established, high performing service team working and travelling around the central north island, completing repairs, maintenance, modification and annual servicing of equipment such as powerchairs, wheelchairs, beds, hoists, walkers, mobility scooters and more, does not come around very often. You will be part of an outstanding team of technicians who can problem solve, source parts and products and ensure that our clients’ (who rely completely on their equipment to achieve independence and quality of life) equipment is working well. To be successful in this role, you must have: Compassion and empathy for people with disability or aged care concerns Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss technical issues with clients A mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn, an Electrical qualification is an advantage but not required to start with Possess good all-round skills in dealing with mechanical and electrical equipment Advanced strengths in diagnostic work, fault finding and problem resolution Clean full driving license The ability to repair and maintain power and manual wheelchairs, walking and bathroom aids. Training is provided Light engineering skills and basic or advanced electrical knowledge. The ability to work with manufacturers and suppliers of disability equipment. Strong organisational skills including planning; time management; and delivering results to timelines Excellent communication skills. You will be: Able to work quickly under pressure without supervision Available to be on-call one week every 6 weeks or as business dictates which includes a weekend Willing to travel – a clean driver's license is essential A NZ Resident or hold a Valid NZ Work permit Willing to undertake a police check Company vehicle, phone and lap top supplied.
