Stainless Steel Fabricator

Our client is an EXPANDING business in Lower Hutt, specialising in the fabrication and installation of custom designed stainless steel bench tops, hand rails, kitchen fit-outs, refrigerated commercial cabinets, extraction hoods and more. Established 26 years ago, they have earned a reputation as the 'industry go to' for challenging jobs, time critical projects or where faultless quality is required. Their close-knit, highly skilled team works closely with designers, architects & joiners to develop stainless steel products to their customers exacting requirements. 
  
THE OPPORTUNITY
If you're a practical and experienced Stainless Steel Fabricator who enjoys a variety of projects and assignments, we'd love to hear from you. Our client offers a stable work environment, plenty of variety in projects, you will enjoy working for a company with an impeccable reputation for producing quality work. An attractive hourly rate inline with candidate experience is on offer. Includes uniform & PPE, flexible work hours, free parking onsite, and excellent work life balance - with a three week break over the Christmas close down period.  Duties include:

• Safe operation & use of equipment and tools including TIG/MIG welder, press brake, guillotine, grinder, polisher, cutting etc.
• Interpret designs from plans, and marking jobs from a flat sheet of stainless
• Responsible for own projects end-to-end
• Installation of finished product offsite (domestic and commercial)
• Support and assist the team as needed on various projects

WHAT YOU'LL BRING WITH YOU
Our ideal candidate will have 2 or more years experience in stainless steel fabrication. A relevant trade certification is desirable but not essential. Most importantly you will have a meticulous eye for detail and take pride in producing a quality end product to exacting standards and:

• Have proven practical knowledge of the principles of fabrication
• Be a flexible team player who will chip in as needed to get projects completed on time 
• Demonstrate good numeracy, literacy & problem solving ability
• Interpret and apply plans and designs
• Take responsibility for own work and projects
• Seek advice from team/manager when needed
• Be trainable and willing to learn and take direction
• Be reliable and motivated
• Have a current drivers licence (an advantage)
