Job Description - The Store Head Chef

The Venue
 
Fresh, local, seasonal, delicious. Stay and eat. Take away. The Store offers everything you might need or want or need. Sweet and savoury goods, fresh seasonal breakfasts and whole food lunches. The high-end grocer catering to all your daily habits, needs and cravings. From morning to lunch and every in-between meal. All produce is from our trusted local farmers and gardeners. Our breads and bakery products are made fresh daily in the neighbourhood - across the square, at Amano. The OpportunityWe are looking for a Head Chefthat can create world-class menus, is organised, can lead and nurture a team, is not afraid to pitch in and want their entire team to succeed, which includes seeing the front of house team as an extension of their own.
Ideally, you will have a minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable role, be confident in all sections within a kitchen, have a passion for hospitality and people, and have a positive and solution-focused mindset.
This role is for morning and day shifts only but flexibility to work weekends is essential.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Day to day operations of the kitchen and kitchen teams at all times
  • Ongoing maintenance and development of all food offerings, innovation, quality and their delivery in the kitchen
  • Effective people practices including, recruitment, onboarding, engagement, performance and offboarding 
  • Effective financial management, ensuring costs are managed and budget expectations are met.
