About the Role 
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking all planned preventative and reactive maintenance services, inspections and reporting on all assets and equipment at the Whanganui Hospital. The scope of plumbing works includes general repairs & preventative maintenance that does not require registration as a plumber.

 

You will participate in shift work, on-call roster and be available for after hours call backs

 
About You 
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about going the extra mile! You are motivated and ready for the opportunity to take on maintenance work to achieve a high standard of performance. Ideally you will have experience in Plumbing related work 

•    Plumbing experience as a Trade Assistant
•    NZ Driver’s Licence 
•    CPR – First Aid Training (Preferred)
•    A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role 
•    Ability to diagnose and solve problems 
•    Have the ability to work with people from all walks of life
•    Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
•    Physically fit and the ability to perform manual labour tasks
•    Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, plan and prioritise 
•    Knowledge of power tool use, storage, and handling
•    Knowledge of current industry standards relevant to Trades Service operations
