The Role

We’re looking for a motivated part-time (20 hours per week) Junior Business Analyst to join our high performing Product Development team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Product Owner, collaborating across product, development, and design functions to ensure the seamless execution of our innovative financial education platforms. As a Junior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for triaging reported issues, initiating feature briefs, and conducting quality assurance to uphold our commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Triaging incoming issues and tasks, prioritising based on urgency and impact.
• Initiating project briefs by gathering requirements, defining objectives, and outlining scope.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable tasks and user stories.
• Conducting thorough quality assurance testing to identify and rectify defects or issues.
• Assisting in the documentation of processes, workflows, and best practices.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Product Development team.

Requirements

We're explicitly looking for someone who's had experience in the space we're wanting them to enter. While we're always happy to train on the job for some aspects of the role, as a start-up, it's important you can hit the ground running with confidence.

We're looking for:

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a software development environment, or a start-up environment (comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing demands).
• Highly organised self-starter who can own an opportunity and manage their deliverables, as well as logically justify decisions made.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams clearly and concisely.
• Exemplary written communication skills, demonstrated through meticulous attention to detail in grammar and spelling.
• Ability to walk through software empathetically to understand user needs and company goals.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g. Github, Trello) is advantageous.
• Passion for financial education and a commitment to Banqer's mission of promoting financial literacy.
