BestStart Barrington is a beautiful purpose-built centre and we have an amazing team of Kaiako who are kind and supportive, who create a quality and inspiring curriculum for all our children. We are looking for a Kaiako who has experience with and is passionate about working with two-year-old children in our Weka ruma.

BestStart Barrington has a distributed leadership model running in the centre, so this position would be a fantastic opportunity for an expereinced Kaiako who would be interested in learning more about and growing their leadership skills.

About the Role: 

This is a permanent position working 40hours per week Monday-Friday.   

Our Weka ruma has an award-winning mana enhancing curriculum that instils in tamariki an unwavering sense of confidence, inquisitive minds, collaborative engagement and a love for learning.

Role requirements: 

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:  

• B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Full Teacher Certification  
• Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning  
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
• A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices  
• Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
