Following the announcement on Friday regarding the changes across the organisation and the introduction of a number of new roles, we are excited to now open expressions of interest for these roles internally, for HDC employees only. These roles are:

Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator

Strategic & Corporate Planner

Organisation Transformation Manager

In addition to the new roles, we also have 2 roles that have been covered with fixed term contracts and will now be made permanent.  These roles are now also open for expressions of interest:

Commercial & Operations Manager

Change & Adoption Specialist

Your expressions of interest are now welcome for the role of Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator

The purpose of the Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator is to support and advance positive safety and wellbeing practices within the Council.

As the Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will play a key role in implementing safety and wellbeing programs, initiatives, and policies across Horowhenua District Council. You will play an inclusive part in fostering active participation and engagement in Safety and Wellbeing initiatives throughout the Council to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our employees and the community.

The Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator role adds additional support to allow growth and capacity for the Safety & Wellbeing Lead and Business Performance Manager to lead Council process and performance change and improve risk management practices.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate  proven experience in a similar role, minimum of 2-5 years. Relevant qualification or working towards a qualification. Demonstrated practical working experience in the development and implementation of organisation Safety & Wellbeing systems and processes. Knowledge of HSE legislation and compliance as well as experience in policy, SOP and training manual writing experience.
