Geologist - Resource Development

Job Description

We are looking for a Resource Development Geologist to join the team at our Waihi operation. This role is responsible for the management and update of the 3D historical workings model to ensure it is optimised based on a combination of various data, and associated communication, liaison, and data supply to all Mining and Geology department stakeholders.

The role may be required to carry out other geological functions related to near mine resource development and exploration projects related to drill campaigns in immediate proximity to the Waihi Mining Operations. This includes responsibility for the collection and management of geological data and technical support for the company’s drilling activities, and analysis of collected data to inform modelling inputs, life-of-mine planning and short and medium-term drilling strategies.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Qualification – B Sc. Geology
• Full and current driver licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
• 2+ Years Post-Graduate experience preferred
• Sound technical skills in Geology
• Mapping and Interpretation skills
• Strong PC skills and computer literacy including experience in 3D packages, preferably Deswik, Vulcan and Leapfrog software
• Sampling Theory
• Working knowledge of modern and historical mining methods preferred.
