Payroll Officer

The Company

My client is well known in the healthcare industry and is a New Zealand owned and operated company. Established in 2003 they have a proud history of providing quality healthcare across New Zealand through one of their many locations in the North and South Islands. The head offices are conveniently located in a central location with easy access via public transport and motorways and offer work from home one day a week and flexible working hours. Due to continuous growth, they are looking for a seasoned Payroll Officer to join on a 1-month contract that could go much longer!

The Role

In this role you will be reporting into the Payroll Manager and will be joining a tight knit team of three. There are 2000 employees with the majority on wages. Due to the majority being on wages they run two separate payrolls on a weekly basis. You will be critical to the success of the payroll team and your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately
• Resolving payroll discrepancies
• Developing and providing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
• Working collaboratively to complete the two payrolls weekly
• Knowledge around holidays act beneficial

Skills & Experience

You will be an experienced Payroll Officer with an understanding of the full payroll process that can work well within a team.

Working within a team, you will be someone who can work collaboratively with others whilst being results-orientated with a high level of attention to detail. You will have a solid understanding of New Zealand legislation and ideally be familiar with the holidays act. This is a fast-paced environment with a supportive and friendly culture.
