Wellington Hospital 

Southern Cross Wellington Hospital is a private surgical hospital and integrated, purpose-built specialist consulting centre. The hospital features day procedure facilities, five operating theatres, diagnostic technologies and a modern intensive care unit – all of which allows the hospital to provide for the needs of a variety of patients, including those at higher-risk, given the increasing number of complex elective surgical procedures now performed in the private sector.   

Clinical services include orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, gastroenterology through to vital colorectal surgery, gynaecology, paediatric surgery, neurophysiology, ophthalmology, oncology and urology. 

First established in 1992, the hospital has seen significant additions and upgrades on the site over recent years. Further expansion is currently underway to add much-needed surgical capacity to the Wellington region and expand the core hospital services to also include a broader range of healthcare services. 

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Southern Cross’ Wellington hospital is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join the Senior Management Team and actively support the General Manager to achieve the strategic goals of the hospital, and build on a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

You will be required within this role to manage the onsite Supply Chain functions and processes within the hospital. You will be accountable for the end-to-end activity including; the inbound process for product ordered, the storage, movement and management of inventory held onsite. Performance measures will be in place to measure success and create a continuous improvement focus.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience within a supply chain/inventory management focused role
  • Prior experience managing a team
  • Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to complete supply chain & inventory management tasks
  • Experienced in completing analysis of data, drawing conclusions and communicating changes as required
  • Experience using Excel to an intermediate level 
  • NZQA Level 3
  • An APICS Certification/CPIM would be desired
  • A tertiary qualification in supply chain, inventory management or a related subject
