Intermediate/Senior Accountant

Job Description: Our client, an accounting firm located in Matamata, is currently seeking a highly skilled High Intermediate to Senior Accountant to join their team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in various responsibilities vital to the firm's success. The Accountant will be responsible for:

• Sorting client financial records
• Coding financial data
• Addressing client queries
• Preparing GST returns
• Compiling work papers for annual accounts
• Reviewing and preparing financial statements
• Completing Income Tax returns
• Finalizing Financial Statements and Income Tax returns after partner review
• Resolving ACC issues with clients
• Liaising with the IRD regarding client affairs
• Undertaking ad hoc advisory tasks for clients as necessary
• Handling miscellaneous office tasks

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Professional accounting not essential (CA)
• 3-4 years of experience as an Intermediate Accountant.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software.
