Job Description - RECRUITMENT & HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISOR

Horizon Energy Group Limited is seeking an experienced Recruitment & Human Resources Advisor to provide cover while the current Recruitment & Human Resource Advisor takes Parental Leave from mid June 2024. The Fixed Term for this position is 20 May 2024 - 14 February 2025. This position is based in Mt Wellington, Auckland.

The Horizon Energy Group owns and operates an electrical contracting and infrastructure construction business, in multiple locations, and a nationwide heating, ventilation, cooling and refrigeration construction and servicing business, and also operates in the South Pacific. You will join a focused, friendly and supportive team of professionals committed to being successful through continuous improvement.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will join a small team of dedicated HR professionals. Working within the People & Performance team the primary focus of this role is to:

  • Deliver a full range of generalist human resource services to the Horizon Energy Group in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist Hiring Managers with the recruitment process - drafting position descriptions, job adverts, listing on external platforms, screening, and assisting with the interview process as required
  • Provide advice and assistance with INZ Visa and the Job Check process/ advertising requirements
  • Provide an advisory service regarding employment relations matters ensuring the consistent and effective application of HRM policies, procedures and best practices across the Horizon Energy Group
  • Maintain and support HR records and processes in the HRIS system
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the People & Performance team as required in relation to various HR projects and initiatives.

To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in generalist HR disciplines and processes
  • Knowledge of current NZ employment law and HR practices and can relate this to an organisational context
  • Previous experience in recruitment life cycle and current knowledge of INZ requirements
  • Proven experience in leading/influencing in a comparably complex and sizable environment
  • Ability to coach, and mentor people leaders and other team members to enhance overall capability in HR practice.
