Our Pareora processing site has a great opportunity for individuals interested in joining our Silver Fern Farms whanau as a company employed Meat Inspector.

Silver Fern Farms Pareora is a large multi-species plant located 10 mins south of Timaru in South Canterbury. This is a region of NZ which offers great lakes, sunny beaches, urban and rural attractions and Timaru is the perfect place to find that highly sought-after work/life balance.

The Company Meat Inspector position is responsible for performing carcass and offal inspection duties in the Primary Butchery (slaughterfloor) operation, ensuring we meet our stringent product quality and customer requirements.

The successful applicants will possess the following attributes:

• Personal desire to protect NZ’s red meat reputation of being safe and wholesome
• Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to make decisions
• Good understanding of food manufacturing compliance
• Great attention to detail
• Team oriented
• Must be prepared to work on either day or evening shift
• Qualified applicants must have a Level 4 National Certificate in Animal Product Examination or Level 4 AsureQuality Trained (Meat Inspection) in Lamb and preferably Beef
• If you have no qualifications, no problem, we will provide the onsite training required!
