Design Engineer

* Industrial design and drafting * 3D modelling work for building products * Regional and national projects The Company: Our Client are leading industry specialists for smart, safe and compliant engineered access, plant mounting & bespoke aluminium structure systems in New Zealand. The product range includes Plant Platforms, HVAC Condenser Mounts, General Mounting, Duct Support Systems, Screening Systems, Bridges, Ladders, Walkways, Handrails, Stairs and custom structures. Their clients range from Architects and Builders nationwide or ones like NZ Refinery in Whangarei and the Aluminium smelter on the Bluff. The Role: You will develop the project and produce designs using tools such as Inventor to create 3D designs which are able to be processed into the factory, and through to installation. Develop designs and drawings for manufacture through to installation for a wide range of products. This involves taking documentation provided by clients, project managers or sales staff, and generating the full, workable model of the required solution. Once this is completed the next step is generating the detailed client sign off, manufacture and installation drawings. Skills Required: * Proficient in 3D modelling drafting software/technology such as Inventor or solidworks. * Knowledge of building codes and regulations. * Strong understanding of structural and architectural design principles. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. * Prior experience in drafting for construction or engineering projects. * Demonstrated ability to produce accurate technical drawings and documentation. * Familiarity with industry-standard drafting practices and standards. * Experience working with architects, engineers, and contractors. * Proven track record of delivering high-quality design and drafting work within deadlines. * Any exposure to working in a Fabrication workshop to understand how things are built would be advantageous.
