About the role and duties:
A Shift Production Operator is part of a factory team working on three rotating shifts - days, afternoons, and nights.
• Responsible for the operation and control of equipment associated with the manufacturing of food ingredients.
• Required to operate equipment in a safe manner in accordance with instructions and carry out quality assurance tests for the manufacturing process and maintain accurate records.
• On-the-job training will be given, including, learning with a fully trained operator, and supervision and testing by a Plant Supervisor.
• Once fully trained and experienced on each workstation, there will be the opportunity and requirement to move to other workstations within the manufacturing process.
Skills and Qualities:
• A proactive-can-do attitude with an invested interest in continuous improvement and advancement in your role.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of secondary education.
• Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Able to learn new skills and processes.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing and/or computer-assisted process control in manufacturing would be an advantage.
• A good level of fitness and mobility.
• Needs to pass a medical examination.
• Able to work rotating shifts and prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
