The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
We have an exciting 12 month fixed-term opportunity for an Event Planner to join our Event Services Team at the University of Auckland based within the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries, where you will support the delivery of a wide range of events for the faculty.
You will be accountable for developing event concepts, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with the faculty marketing team, coordinating the annual events calendar and managing events end-to-end. You will also provide expertise, guidance, and advice to ensure informed and timely decisions can be made to ensure the delivery of professional, successful and safe events.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours pw) position. The salary range is between $54,700 - 74,000 based on experience and

Reporting to the Event Services Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with the Faculty Communication and Marketing team and other Event Services Event Planners to ensure events meet Event Owners objectives and are delivered in a professional and timely manner.
About you | He kōrero mōu
Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience implementing both virtual and in-person events, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to confidently and tactfully inform and advise stakeholders. You will need to hit the ground running and be able to multi-task and work confidently under pressure. You’ll need to use your initiative, and work both independently as well as part of a team.
This role will suit someone who is highly organised, takes a proactive approach, is able to lead the planning and management of events in the faculty, thrives in a busy environment and has a genuine interest in the Creative Arts. An understanding of tikanga and kawa for events would be advantageous.
