Our busy clothing alterations and repairs store, located in the Richmond Mall, is seeking and seamstress/tailor/sewing machinist to join our team. We specialise in repairing, resizing and repurposing clothing and more.  We cater to a broad range of customers providing quality repairs and alterations and second-to-none customer service.
We have grown over the past 4 years to establish ourselves as Nelson and Tasman’s alterations and repairs specialists. We pride ourselves on our warm and friendly atmosphere, expert advice and quality workmanship.  This is why our customers keep coming back.
Our business has been growing quickly and we are looking for the right person to join us on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, clothing alterations and repairs workshop, up close and personal not only with our customers but hands on with the alterations and repairs.  You will also get the opportunity to gain experience using specialised machinery and techniques used in the business.  
What you will be doing, under guidance of the owner and other staff,

• Working with customers, helping them decide the best way to alter or repair their garment
• Pricing jobs
• Preparing garments for sewing
• Sewing and quality checks
• Working directly with the owner to assist with marketing concepts, complimentary services and stock management
• Working in a clean, modern, well-equipped workshop with a variety of high quality new machines and equipment and more thread colours than you could ever imagine!
• Repairs and alterations as broad and varied as our customers. From business suits and ball gowns to jeans and jodhpurs. No two days are the same when it comes to the variety of work; this provides us with a simulating, fulfilling and enjoyable day

What you need to have:

• Sewing experience – a proven sewing ability
• Excellent customer service - this is just as important as your sewing ability. Our customers are our business and providing a warm, friendly environment, is a core value of Seamless
• An ability to work with people, both customers and other staff
• A positive attitude is a must along with an ability to communicate well
• The ability to think outside the square.  The jobs we get are diverse and often brainstorming with other staff is needed.
• Be able to work in a small, dedicated team and have a willingness to share ideas and techniques, as well as learn new ones.

Reporting directly to the owner and working inclusively with a close-knit team. Hours will be 20 hours per week initially including Saturday morning with the opportunity to increase hours as the business continues to grow This position is available now
