We are in Masterton looking for one full-time Chinese Cook to join us. We require one positive and ambitious candidate who can handle responsibility with ease whilst remaining focused and in control in a fast-paced environment.

Vacancy Details

• Job title : Chinese Takeaway Cook
• Location : Masterton, Wellington Region
• Employment Type : Permanent & Full-time
• Days required : Monday to Sunday on roster
• Hourly Rate : $29.66 to $32.00 per hour
• Hours per week : guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours a week, a maximum of 50 hours a week
• Number of vacancies : 1 position

Key tasks & responsibilities:

• Taking and serving food and beverage orders and receiving payment from customers.
• Preparing fried food such as fried fish and fries.
  Washing, cutting, measuring and mixing foods for cooking.
• Operating cooking equipment such as grills, microwaves, and deep-fat fryers.
• Ensuring that all Chinese Cuisine dishes are prepared to meet the required standards.
• Ensuring that all Chinese Cuisine recipes and preparation requirements are followed accurately.
• Cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
• Ordering and taking delivery of fast-food ingredients.
• May arrange delivery of prepared food and beverages.
• General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties.

To be a right for this role and our organization, you need:

• Some relevant Chinese Cuisine working experience or a Level 4 or above Cookery-related certificate.
• Adaptable to change and able to multitask.
• Be reliable and responsible.
• Be fit enough to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime
• Must be flexible to meet the early morning and late night shifts.
• Long-term and full commitments are required.
• Complying with health and safety regulations.
• Be able to pass a police check.
