The district nursing team provides nursing care, advice and support to patients and their whanau across various healthcare settings.We have one position available, working 56 hours per fortnight 0.7 FTE, (covering Monday to Sunday) rostered and rotating shifts.The hours of work include early mornings and early evenings, there are two shifts 8am - 4.30pm and 10.30am to 7pm working Monday through Sunday, including statutory holidays. There may also be the opportunity to work additional hours in this role.Mou - About youWe are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years' postgraduate experience, preferably in a Community setting. Community Nurses provide assessment and support, develop and review care plans, deliver clinical care and follow-up patients requiring ongoing care in their homes and also in our wound clinic. You therefore need to have good interpersonal skills, including empathy and understanding for older people and the terminally ill, who are significant consumers of our services. You need to be willing to develop generic skills and to undertake further post basic training relevant to community based nursing.Due to the nature of this role, we will require a full Police Check under the Vulnerable Children's Act.
