Great learning, development and career progression opportunities across Compass that is varied and exciting!Join a great team who are full of energy and enthusiasm for great service!Job security and stability in an essential service organisation!What will you be doing with us?We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified  Permanent Full time Executive Chef  for our Catering operation at the  NZDF Trentham, Wellington .This is a role at a large and diverse site, we have a large kitchen catering for up to 250+ pax, a large out-catering section, an Officers mess a with A la Carte menu . In addition we cater for large high profile formal dinners and we have an on- site café.The role is primarily Monday - Friday however business levels determine your weekly roster .Your responsibilities:organise and manage the kitchens within Trentham Military Basefollow best practice culinary standardsstay up to date with culinary market trends and competitorscross sector and function collaborationthe Executive Chef is responsible for providing great quality food & services that meet client expectationsidentify opportunities to improve culinary products/servicesthe management, development and training of all back of house team membersparticipating in the menu development processes and ensuring that all tasks associated with food production, transport and logistics are performed with due regard for all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulationsThis is an amazing opportunity working with some of the latest equipment available,. This will give you the opportunity to skyrocket your career.About you:at least 3 years' experience in a similar leadership position leading and mentoring large brigades,at least 4 years of experience working in a multi station dining environment with a focus on freshly prepared and cooked to order options,previous leadership experience will see you leading large teams while managing multiple sites through efficient processes and effective organization,training all back of house team members and participating in menu development in conjunction with Culinary leadensuring all tasks associated with food production , transport and logistics are performed with regard to Health and Safety and Food Safety Regulationsbeing comfortable to collaborate with the wider team, share ideas to contribute to the business growth and exceed customer experiencea solid communicator that gives direction and runs a seamless team.If you want to shape a career that makes your heart beat just that little bit faster.
