Horrabridge School is currently offering a Level 3 apprenticeship placement. This opportunity focuses on working within our Nursery, which provides care and education for pupils aged 2 to 4 years. You’ll have the chance to contribute to the nurturing and development of young children, gaining valuable experience in an educational setting.
What you will do in your working day
- Welcoming and settling-in the children as they arrive to the nursery (helping to put their belongings on their peg/trolley)
- Interacting and engaging with children throughout their daily learning
- Supporting children with their basic hygiene needs.
- Assisting and supporting children throughout snack/lunchtime routine
- Making sure the environment is safe, clean and tidy (reporting any issues found to the manager)
- Supervising children throughout their daily toothbrushing routine.
- Supporting staff and children with the timetabled daily routine/planned activities
- Supporting children to build positive relationships with other children
- Supervising and observing children between the ages of 2-4 years old
- Supporting children to develop their independence and social skills
- Motivating the children and encouraging them to explore
- Providing comfort and warmth to any ill children
- Reporting any accidents to the manager/staff members
- Promote and support the safeguarding of the children in the nursery
The training you will be getting
- You will be working towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification
- You may also need to work towards Level 2 functional skills in maths and English if not achieved at GCSE level
- All training to be delivered remotely, via teams, during paid working hours
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- It is hoped but not guaranteed that an offer of permanent employment will be offered at the end of this apprenticeship
