We are looking for a competent and energetic Kiwifruit Machinery operator with passion for machine operations and working with people, to join our small team on our farm. The family business is in the process of establishing a Kiwifruit orchard in the Hamilton/Waikato area. We are looking for a someone that can demonstrate knowledge and understanding on how to do this job, have an eye for detail, work efficiently and good time management. Part of your role will involve operating a Forklift and a Tractor with thin tyres. Prior experience in the agriculture industry would be of benefit but not compulsory. We are willing to train up if no experience in these areas. Job Description Skilled with driving/operating a Tractor and Forklift. Prepping and positioning the plant for operation. Adjusting speed height and depth of implements. Servicing plant and performing minor repairs as required. Keeping all plant clean and tidy. Keeping accurate time records. Some experience with loading and uploading of goods. The position involves weekend and wet weather work. You must have: Prior experience preferred but full training can be provided. Minimum of Class 2 license (or equivalent) preferred. Are confident and respectful towards others. Competent in machinery operations to complete the job safely and efficiently. Good work ethic to work long hours unsupervised and ability to work under pressure. Personable character able to connect and communicate well with others. Tidy Operator who ensures high standards of work and cleanliness of all areas with the ability to maintain machinery. Implement health and safety + compliance requirements. Physically fit and not afraid of manual labour when required. Mechanically minded preferred. We can offer: Competitive rates of pay $25-$35 per hour depending on experience.
