Job DescriptionMidwife Manager - Delivery Suite - Fixed Term (WAI27460)Midwife Manager - Delivery Suite - Fixed Term : WAI27460Where you'll be working : Waikato Hospital Women's HealthThe details : Fixed Term 80 hours per fortnightTe whiwhinga mahi The OpportunityAn opportunity has arisen for a Midwife Manager (MM) to lead the Women's Health Team Delivery Suite for a fixed term providing leadership, vision and focus to this integral part of the wider women's health service.About the service :Waikato Women's Delivery Suite has 7 birth rooms, a dedicated 2 bed HDU room, theatre and PACU bay.The role of CMM is busy and varied the ideal candidate will be a solution focused person able to work with staff from a variety of disciplines and manage competing and often conflicting demands.Key responsibilities of the role :Manage people, systems, budget and resources within a defined area to ensure that service delivery is of a high standard.Manage systems, processes and resource that enable staff to meet the needs of the woman / consumer / tangata whaiora in an efficient and effective manner.Provide clinical leadership for the multi-disciplinary team and inspire the team to provide excellent maternity care.Provide professional and operational leadership to the midwifery and nursing team, developing the midwifery and nursing services and monitoring quality, including standards of practice and service standards.Contribute to the strategic direction for the clinical care area and the women's health service.Mou About youThe successful Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role :Recent clinical leadership experience within a secondary / tertiary service.Proven experience managing and developing staff.Bachelor of Midwifery.Registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and hold a current annual practising certificate.Midwife is required to have an up to date portfolio providing evidence of participation in the Midwifery Council's recertification programme.Midwife must have achieved leadership level on the Quality and Leadership Programme and / or completed a post graduate certificate or is working towards.At least five years post graduate midwifery experience.Proven involvement in change management, clinical audits and quality initiatives.Please to view the position description for Midwife Manager.Why us :We are a values based and inclusive organisation that is committed to deliver the best health outcomes for our total population.To do this we are working hard to develop a robust and capable workforce that reflects the population we serve.
