Job Description - Staff Nurse - Hiring Fast

The Staff Nurse at Hatchfit Physiotherapy Clinic provides direct patient care and coordinates patient care-related activities using the scientific process of nursing. The role primarily serves adult and geriatric populations, performing cardiovascular diagnostic procedures and providing comprehensive nursing care.

Responsibilities:

General Duties:

  • Patient-Centered Care: Provide age-specific patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Assessment: Perform patient assessments using appropriate, problem-focused, and age-specific techniques.
  • Critical Care Assessment: Continuously assess patient and family’s physical and psychological needs.
  • Care Planning: Involve the patient, significant others, and healthcare providers in the care plan. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and revise the care plan as necessary.
  • Critical Care Coordination: Coordinate and plan critical care pathways, prioritize care based on individual needs, and initiate appropriate transfer plans.
  • Problem Anticipation: Recognize subtle cues to anticipate potential problems.
  • Documentation: Document all relevant data in the medical record according to clinic standards.
  • Supply Management: Ensure the availability and maintenance of supplies and equipment needed for patient care.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform clerical duties as needed.
  • JCIA Compliance: Assume responsibility for meeting Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) mandatory education requirements.
  • Team Participation: Participate in staff meetings, unit committees/projects, and the development and achievement of unit goals.
  • Safety: Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Medication Handling: Perform safe handling and administration of narcotic/controlled and semi-controlled drugs, documenting as per policies.
  • Competency Maintenance: Ensure completion of unit competencies and maintain clinical and professional competency based on the latest research and standards.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in unit-based Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Ongoing Education: Engage in ongoing educational activities and maintain mandatory educational requirements.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as required.

Unit-Specific Duties:

  • ECG Conducting: Perform Electrocardiograms (ECG).
  • Pulse Wave Volume Recording: Conduct Pulse Wave Volume Recording, including Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) and Toe-Brachial Index (TBI).
  • Stress Tests Assistance: Assist during Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram procedures, Tilt Table tests, Bubble tests, Treadmill Stress Tests, Adenosine Stress Tests, and Nuclear Stress Tests.
  • Echocardiograms Support: Provide support during Echocardiograms with Contrast.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (minimum of three years full-time course duration) or
    • Degree in Nursing (minimum two years course duration) with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
  • Licensing: Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment (where applicable).
  • Certification: Must hold a minimum of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or equivalent according to the scope of practice.
  • UAE Nationals: Graduates of UAE or non-UAE universities are exempt from the experience and clinical training requirements for the applied title. (UAE nationals must submit a copy of their birth certificate and the mother’s family book).
  • Non-UAE Nationals: Graduates from UAE universities are required to successfully complete six months of clinical training post-graduation in an APS health facility (except for Registered and Assistant Nurse titles).

Professional Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of two years of recent post-graduate experience in cardiology nursing or a heart center.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of and ability to render care and services based on the age, appropriateness, and developmental needs of patients.
    • Skills in assessing the physical and psychological needs of patients and their families.
    • Skills in coordinating and planning care and prioritizing based on individual needs.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is essential.
