Job Description - ACC Navigator

Our Ohu Oranga o te Tangata team are looking to an ACC Navigator.



The ACC Navigator role acts as a conduit for ACC Kiritaki (clients) / whānau to navigate ACC Systems and Services by providing accurate, fair and accessible information and advice and empowering whnau to engage with ACC Services ā tinana, ā wairua, ā Hinengaro, ā whānau and ā whenua (total mind-body connection).



Employment type: Fixed Term till 1 June 2025. Full Time (40hrs per week/1.0 FTE).



As an ACC Navigator you will have a passion for supporting our communities across the Hauraki rohe to improve whānau understanding, knowledge and access to ACC entitlement, systems and services.


 


Essential Competencies include:




  • A relevant tertiary qualification, or a willingness to undertake relevant study.

  • Experience in whānau case management involving Manaakitanga, Kōtahitanga and Whanaugatanga.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.

  • An in depth understanding of Kaupapa Māori principles for Whānau, Hapū and Iwi in Hauraki rohe (region).

  • Ability to build and sustain beneficial, trusting and professional relationships with ACC Kiritaki, ACC, and cross-sector professional and community organisations.

  • A drive to support ACC Kiritaki and enable their access to ACC Services.

  • Adaptability in approach to provide individualised support to individual ACC Kiritaki.

  • The knowledge, skills and community linkages to coordinate support for ACC Kiritaki across health, social and voluntary services.

  • An understanding of ACC, ACC Services and related health, social and voluntary services.

  • Computer literacy.

  • A clean full driver licence. 



We require a confident pro-active individual with strong time management skills, great sense of humour and a sparkling personality.


 


To succeed in this appointment, you must have a commitment to improving the accessibility of service provision to Hauraki whānau and a clear understanding of Te Taha Māori.
