Accommodation Manager

Kinross is a fast growing, unique Wine Touribusiness in Gibbston - Queenstown’s wine country.  Set on 40 acres of vines and views, our Cellar Door and Bistro have a reputation for superb, seasonal food, genuine friendly service and outstanding local wines. Our 14-room boutique hotel allows visitors and wine club members to stay and enjoy our beautiful location for a longer visit.  

The Objective
To provide a world class guest experience for all guests staying at Kinross, by ensuring the hotel operations are efficient and guest focused.  At the same time maximising hotel revenue via all channels.

The Role

This is a new role, reporting to the CEO, taking full responsibility for the success of our small (14 rooms) but vital hotel operation.  You will look after a full time team of 4, with additional casual and fixed term staff over summer.

As well as management responsibility, you will be carrying out all front and back office functions - taking bookings, check in and out, caring for guests, rate management, relationships with agents and OTA's etc. 

You will have:

• 3 - 5 years Hotel experience in a broad range of roles
• 1 - 3 years people management experience, able to demonstrate positive leadership skills
• Competency with property management, channel manager, dynamic rate and other hotel systems
• Familiarity with the management of Housekeeping
• Great time management skills - able to juggle improvement projects with day to day guest needs, with a huge focus on getting all the important details right every day
• Be well presented and well spoken with superior written and verbal english, with the confidence to deal with conflict and difficult situations
• A high level of self awareness, be calm under pressure, with a positive, solutions based approach.

This role is a salaried position, working Wed - Sun every week. No night shifts, although you will look after the after hours phone (for calls from guests on site) 5 nights per week.
