Job Description - Account Manager - Parental leave cover

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a skilled Account Manager to cover a 6-month period of parental leave. Your mission is clear: drive NZME Sales revenue, EBIT, and growth targets within the Real Estate category. How? By proactively managing accounts, fostering new relationships, and delivering top-notch solutions that align with NZME's values and strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver Sales Revenue, EBIT, and growth Targets:

  • Working with your manager, develop an annual strategy for each long-term client that meets their needs and objectives, and develop and present appropriate solutions to satisfy those needs using NZME’s entire product portfolio (print,radio, digital).
  • Maintain overall responsibility for each account in remit, ensuring that all NZME business with the client is executed within the standards expected.
  • Formulate ongoing new business development plans.
  • Identify potential new clients and conduct business meetings to uncover revenue opportunities.
  • Provide regular summaries on account performance, including sales, costs, opportunities, and risks.
  • Deliver Profitable Advertising Solutions:
  • Develop and present appropriate solutions to meet clients’ needs and objectives, champion the full range of NZME products and services (print, digital, radio) to ensure clients receive optimum media solutions.
  • Generate new revenue opportunities and deliver cost of sales forecasts that will maintain and enhance profit margins.
  • Ensure achievement of sales plans/forecasts and input to forecasts as required. Proactively address issues impacting sales targets achievement
  • Capture key market trends and client decisions that could have a material impact on revenue performance, and maintain a high level of market intelligence.
  • Work with the account team and management to deliver yield improvement strategies and proactively identify inventory gaps.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Degree qualification in Commerce or Media Studies and/or extensive knowledge and experience in the New Zealand media market.
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in an account management role, preferably in a fast paced, audience focused sales environment.
  • Proven expertise in sales performance and new business development.
  • Strong customer service ethic, continuously looking for opportunities to improve customer service and engagement through intensified relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to build trust with clients’, other team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications.
